Go For A Socially Distant Ride Through Ohio’s Hocking Valley With Hocking Valley Scenic Railway
Did you know that there are actually several different train rides you can take in Ohio? (Be sure to check out this list.) Although not all of Ohio's scenic railroads are currently open due to COVID-19 precautions, Hocking Valley Scenic Railway is featuring socially distant rides you can take this summer. It's a great way to get out, have some fun with the family, and stay close to home.
Take in the beauty of one of Ohio's most scenic regions with a ride aboard the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway this summer.
You'll find the train depot along E Canal Street in Nelsonville.
Operating train rides through the Hocking River Valley between East Logan and Nelsonville, this scenic railway features several holiday and seasonal events throughout the year.
During normal hours of operation, trains also operate every Saturday and Sunday between Memorial Day and the last weekend of October.
This year, the railway is offering socially distant rides with limited seating on Saturdays and Sundays.
Please note: All guests are encouraged to wear masks and social distance.
You'll embark on your journey aboard a 100-year-old steam locomotive and pass through brick kilns, canal locks and other remnants of Ohio history.

Rides last approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes and departure times vary on the day of your trip.
