You Won’t Want To Visit The Notorious Riverside Cemetery In North Dakota Alone Or After Dark

Some places are, to put it lightly, creepy. Sometimes, you wind up in a place where something just feels off. It feels strange, and is it just you, or does it feel like someone (or something) is watching? If you're at all familiar with North Dakota, you know that there are quite a few of those places 'round these parts, and some of those places just happen to be the creepiest grounds of all: cemeteries. We found a haunted cemetery in North Dakota that is quite literally known for being ridiculously haunted; it's the notorious Riverside Cemetery, in Fargo, and it's creepy as all get-out.

Riverside Cemetery has been rumored to be haunted for a long time.

It's not really known just how long the grounds have creeped people out; they just seem like they always have. The neighborhood kids have a plethora of urban legends about this quiet, seemingly peaceful place of respite.

It's beautiful. Quiet. Eerie.

Supposedly, should one be unlucky, they might just hear the sounds of people crying and calling out somewhere in, near, or around the mausoleums. One was built in the 1920s, another in the 1970s.

The cemetery is so well-known for its ghosts that it's been listed in numerous "creepiest cemeteries of..." lists across the web, and on plenty of paranormal blogs and videos as well.

Interestingly, it's quite difficult to find usable images of this enormous graveyard online; we suppose you might just have to go a-knocking to see what it's all about here.

It's also said that bizarre, unexplained mists, orbs, and strange anomalies have appeared in photos and videos of the area.

Frightened folks have gone online to tell tales of being watched by someone - or something - and hearing odd noises after dark.

Located in Fargo, North Dakota, Riverside Cemetery was officially established in 1879, although the burial of its first occupant, a Ms. Clemina Lowell on February 16th of 1878, had already occurred on the grounds.

Over the decades, there have been more than 18,000 people buried here. It's the largest - and oldest - cemetery in North Dakota.

...and still, there are plenty of ex-employees who claim that no, the grounds are not, in fact, haunted at all.

You never know who - or what - you'll run into if you do choose to show up. Bring a camera and an audio recorder; hey, you never know.
