One Of The Most Haunted Museums In North Dakota, The Children’s Museum Has Been Around Since 1876

There are places that are just plain creepy. You know what we mean: graveyards, state hospitals, dark forests, and ancient castles. On the opposite side of the spectrum? Children's museums. Except this one in North Dakota.

Yup, despite being a warm and cozy place to entertain and educate kids, the Children's Museum at Yunker Farm in Fargo, North Dakota has a dark side: it's apparently as welcoming to ghosts as it is to kids. Maybe it's not so surprising the museum is regularly deemed one of the most haunted places in North Dakota – it was, after all, first built as a farmhouse in 1876. In later years, it was transformed to the children's museum it is today, but apparently spirits from its past remain, including a child-loving former owner and a ghostly kid by a well.

The Children's Museum at Yunker Farm is a fun, lively place for kids to learn and play.

But as fun and as educational as it is, it's also rumored to be haunted by multiple ghosts.

Sarah Yunker, whose husband originally owned the farm back in the 1800s, is rumored to be one of the spirits. She is described as a welcoming presence who hangs out upstairs where the children's activities primarily are. It makes sense because she loved kids.

The other ghost is a little girl seen by the well. Legend has it she drowned there.

People often report feeling short of breath and experiencing chest pains by the well — the same thing the little girl likely felt before her untimely death.

In addition, staff has reported the elevator randomly not working or moving on its own, odd noises, and feeling like they are being watched.

All in all, despite being such a welcoming spot for kids, the Children's Museum also has a creepy side.
