This Quirky TV Show Museum In North Carolina Is A Flashback To The 1980s
Visit the Boar’s Nest in Rougemont, North Carolina, a quirky museum dedicated to "The Dukes of Hazzard" TV show.
Visit the Boar's Nest in Rougemont, North Carolina and you may not find Bo, Luke, Daisy, Uncle Jess, or Boss Hogg - but you'll find just about everything else having to do with the 1980s TV phenom known as "The Dukes of Hazard." In what just may be the only unofficial Dukes of Hazard Museum in the world, this quirky North Carolina attraction is a must-see for Dukes fans of all ages.
"The Dukes of Hazzard" premiered on CBS Television in 1979 and saw seven seasons of redneck fun set in the fictional Hazzard County, Georgia.
It takes a real fan to amass a collection of Dukes' material so large it can fill an entire museum, but the Boar's Nest, a close replica from the TV series, seems to nearly have it all.
Almost every inch of wall space in this quirky museum is covered in Dukes of Hazzard memorabilia. Wall cases, light boxes, and more are brimming with everything you can think of related to the television series.
It even has a Hazzard County Sheriff's car...
... and a section in the museum dedicated to Sheriff Coltrane, too.
If you're wondering about the show's bombshell, Daisy Duke (portrayed by Catherine Bach), there's an entire section dedicated to her... and there may even be a few pairs of cut off shorts suspended from the ceiling (tastefully, of course).
For any Duke's of Hazzard fan, a visit to the Boar's Nest is a must.
And while you're here, pop next door to the not-so-new Evil Knievel building!
The Boar's Nest Facebook page is the best spot to find the current hours. At present, they're listed as three days a week: Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free but if you want to support the museum, there's a gift shop where you can purchase memorabilia or make a donation. Have you visited this wacky TV museum in North Carolina? We'd love to know!
