The World’s Largest Kaleidoscope Is Right Here In New York And You’ll Want To Visit

The Emerson Resort & Spa in Mount Tremper, New York, features the world's largest kaleidoscope, making it a unique roadside attraction.

As New Yorkers, we're more than familiar with the idea of a quirky roadside attraction. Throughout the state and along our roads you can find everything from a massive duck and the world's largest pancake griddle to things like a pig rock and a girl with the head of a shark. You just never know what to expect when you look out your window! But truth be told, one of our most unique roadside attractions is one you may not initially recognize unless you know what you're looking for.

Curious to see where the world's largest kaleidoscope is hiding out in the Catskills? Then keep reading to uncover another New York hidden gem!

Located right in the small town of Mount Tremper, the Emerson Resort & Spa is an amazing getaway to take in the heart of the Catskills.

Visible right from Route 28, you might happen to notice an out-of-place looking silo that's tucked between the resort's buildings.

While you may assume it's just a structure that's been kept for aesthetic charm, you'll be surprised to discover that the 56-foot silo is actually the World's Largest Kaleidoscope!

Attached to the silo is an old barn that's now the Emerson Country Store and Kaleidostore.

The Kaleidostore is an exciting place to shop around, full of all different sized kaleidoscopes that are for sale and amazing gifts to take home with you.

The shop houses its own Kaleidobar where visitors can see a variety of extraordinary kaleidoscopes on display, with the store even housing the world's smallest kaleidoscope as well!

Exploring the Kaleidostore is certainly an adventure on its own, but it's the Kaatskill Kaleidoscope that you really came to see!

Costing only $5 dollars to get in (unless you're 11 years old or younger - then it's free), admission to the Kaatskill Kaleidoscope will give you access to a 10-minute long visual feast for your eyes.

Giving you the option to lean against a padded wall or to lay on the floor, the kaleidoscope visuals change with the seasons - making it a great attraction to revisit time and time again.

Certified by the Guinness Book of World Records as the World's Largest Kaleidoscope, this is a one-of-a-kind roadside attraction that's great for the whole family to check out.

As you lay back and watch the kaleidoscope visuals, you'll be surrounded with the sounds of wonderful music. Between how easily accessible it is and how inexpensive the Kaatskill Kaleidoscope costs, this little treasure makes for the perfect family day-trip in the Catskill Park.
