Playground on the Pecos is a unique playground fort within the Pecos River Village.

Back in 2001, the village got together to design a revolutionary playground. In 2002, this vision became a reality and the community came together to build the playground fort. This majestic fort is primarily made of wood and offers dozens of hiding places.

This 15,000-square-foot fort features styles that resemble Carlsbad culture like caves to hide in, rocks to climb, and flumes to slide down on. There are numerous towers to stake out at, and swings and slides to play upon.

Playground on the Pecos is located upon the Riverwalk Recreation Center, so you can see amazing views of the Pecos River while you play, and then go for a walk beside it.

To ease any safety concerns, Playground on the Pecos is monitored by camera thanks to the staff at Riverwalk Recreation Center.

This playground fort is truly a unique way to spend the day, and will have us all feeling carefree and playful again.
