This Sea-Themed Festival In New Jersey Has Been Going Strong Since 1975
Point Pleasant Beach hosts the annual Festival of the Seas, a vibrant event featuring over 250 vendors, diverse food options, and a bustling boardwalk.
Ah, Point Pleasant Beach. Is there any town that sums up the Jersey Shore better? A long, roomy beach; a boardwalk packed with attractions, and plenty of shops and restaurants to spend a full day exploring. But does the fun end when the calendar rolls over to September? In this town, that is an emphatic NO! In fact, some might say that's when the best part of the year begins here - because the Festival of the Seas is coming to town! This epic festival in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ is celebrating its 44th year in 2023, and has been running since 1975 - with a one-year break in 2020. This year, the event will run on September 16th from 10 AM to 7 PM and it's promising more of what makes the festival great - a large display of some of the best food and merch vendors, running up and down Arnold Avenue.
Point Pleasant Beach's central train station drops you off close to the town's shopping district and less than a mile from the Boardwalk - but the town will be much busier one day in September.
The annual Festival of the Seas transforms the whole of Arnold Avenue into a bustling retail plaza, packed with shopping and dining options.
More than 250 vendors will be on hand, each selling unique small-batch goods you never knew existed but won't want to leave without!
Dozens of the town's best restaurants will be on hand, serving everything from pasta to tacos to barbecue from their stands.
Of course, this is a festival of the seas - so the lobster rolls, chowder, and other briny treats are not to be missed.
And if you have a sweet tooth, everything from ice cream to zeppoles will be on hand for a perfect finish.
This festival can easily take up most of your day - but the world-famous Jenkinson's Boardwalk will be open late if you want to keep the fun going!
