If you're looking for something new and exciting to visit in Nevada, then you need to visit Sphere in Las Vegas. This giant, spherical music venue is one of a kind in the world. This 18,600-seat auditorium has immersive video and audio capabilities and it's very special and unique. You'll love everything about it - inside and out - and you'll remember your visit to it always. Read on to learn more about it.
Sphere opened on September 23, 2023. Its construction was announced in February 2018. It's just east of The Venetian and it's a striking new addition to the Vegas Strip.
The exterior of Sphere is covered with thousands of LED screens. The exterior screens were first used on July 4, 2023.
Sphere staff is very creative about what is shown on these screens. Sometimes, Sphere is just plain cute.
At other times, there are other exciting images shown on it. Because Sphere is gigantic - it's 366 feet tall at its highest point - it's a sight to see from so many places all over Las Vegas.
There are 580,000 square feet of LED display space on the exterior. When it's all in use, the visuals are incredible.
In fact, it's the largest spherical building in the world.
The interior is as interesting and beautiful as the exterior. The lobby is modern and interesting.
There are nine levels inside altogether, including a VIP club in the basement.
Seating inside Sphere covers about two-thirds of the interior, and the stage area takes up the other third.
The interior screens cover 160,000 square feet and are 16K resolution. Just as Sphere is the largest spherical building in the world, the interior screens are the largest and highest resolution LED screens on the planet.
There are four levels of seats inside, plus space on the floor area for concertgoers. 10,000 of the venue's seats also have haptic technology built into them.
U2 was the first band to perform at the Sphere. Their 40-show residency began when Sphere opened.
So far, only two other bands are scheduled to appear - Phish and Dead & Company - but more are sure to follow. This venue isn't like anywhere else in the world!
You don't have to attend a concert to experience Sphere, though. Feature film Postcard from Earth, directed by Darren Aronofsky, has showings at Sphere most days.
This film offers 270-degree footage of amazing sights from around the world. It tells the story of life on earth through visuals, climate control, haptics, and even the release of scents that go along with what is happening on the screens.
Sphere is amazing and there is nothing else like it in Nevada or the world. You're going to be blown away by what you see, hear, and feel while visiting, whether you attend a concert or a film. Don't miss it.
Even if you don't go inside, viewing Sphere is an experience that's worthwhile and memorable. Be sure to stop by Sphere next time you are in Las Vegas!
Sphere is one of the coolest attractions in all of Nevada. Already, people are coming from all over the nation and the world to check it out. You'll love everything about it. Visiting Sphere is something that you'll never forget, and you'll be telling others about it for years to come. Have a great visit!
