Stroll Through A Lego Sculpture Garden This Spring At Lauritzen Gardens In Nebraska
Lauritzen Gardens in Omaha features a special Lego Sculpture Garden exhibit this spring, showcasing nature-themed Lego sculptures.
There's no better way to appreciate the world of nature than by getting out and strolling through the plants and flowers of a botanical garden. The pretty pathways meander through a colorful world of collaboration between Mother Nature and man, and delight visitors, young and old. There's a beautiful garden in Omaha that you'll want to visit soon; not only does it have acres of gardens, but there's a Lego Sculpture Garden featured there this spring that's really something special.
Lauritzen Gardens got its start in the mid-1980s. Throughout the years, it's grown and improved, and now it welcomes more than 220,000 visitors every year. The gardens also has more than 12,000 members and 250 volunteers. You'll find it in Omaha.
When you plan your visit, allow plenty of time to wander through the 100-acre gardens. You'll find more than a dozen different areas, each highlighting particular plants and flowers.
In the spring, brilliant blooms of color fill the gardens...
...and the Marjorie K. Daugherty Conservatory maintains lush, tropical plants year-round. The 17,500-square-foot area features everything from oak trees to azaleas, as well as temporary exhibits and art displays.
Visitors won't want to miss the Nature Connects: Art With Lego Bricks exhibit, which runs from January 18 through May 10, 2020.
This fourth-annual exhibit by Sean Kenney includes 13 incredible sculptures, made with more than 800,000 Lego bricks.
Each animal sculpture is placed in a garden scene befitting for its habitat. Check out the striped zebra and horned wildebeest, grazing on plants...
...and take a look at the snow leopard, crouched up on his rock plateau.
From a brilliant butterfly...
...to a majestic polar bear with her little cubs, the exhibit highlights endangered animals and conservation. You'll definitely want to visit Lauritzen Gardens before this art installation is gone again!
Visit the gardens seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults; $5 for children ages 3-12, and free for children ages 2 and younger.
