Montana’s Horror Theater And Haunted Escape Maze Is Sinister And Spooky In All The Best Ways
Moss Mansion in Billings, Montana, offers spooky Halloween events and is rumored to be haunted.
Montana's Moss Mansion is a historic treasure. Located in Billings, this estate-turned-museum is a year-round destination for locals and visitors alike who happen to be curious about history. If it's been a while since you've visited or you have yet to check it out, take note -- October is a fantastic time to go. The creepy, eerie, and downright scary events will put you in a Halloween state of mind.
The Moss Mansion was once the home of Mr. and Mrs. Moss, their six children, and three family servants.
It's currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is owned by the city of Billings and the state of Montana. The mansion was designed by the famous New York City architect Henry Janeway Hardenbergh, who also designed the original Waldorf-Astoria and the Plaza Hotel, among other famous buildings.
Even when it's not the spooky season, the Moss Mansion is rumored to be haunted.
Considering several of the Moss family members died here, that's not surprising. Guests and staff have reported seeing shadows, hearing a female voice singing in the Billiards Room, and seeing apparitions of little Virginia Moss, who passed away when she was only six.
We cannot confirm or deny the paranormal activity in the Moss Mansion -- but we can confirm that October has a lineup of spooky events.
From murder mystery dinners to Mysteries at the Moss, the Scooby Doo edition, you'll find all kinds of creative and creepy activities on the calendar.
On October 29, 30, and 31, check out the Horror Theater and Haunted Escape Maze.
For over 25 years this has been a tradition, and this year's festivities will be like no other.
The signature thrills will be happening both indoors and outdoors, and this year there is the promise of some new twists.
We don't know what those twists entail -- the team at the mansion wants everything to be a surprise. But if you're easily spooked, this might not be the best event for you... (or is it?)
Choose between a 6:30 p.m. entry or a 10:30 p.m. entry.
Imagine being here late on Halloween night.
