The Saint Louis Zoo is known for its incredible beauty.
Locals know that the wintertime, if anything, enhances the beauty of its campus.
But now through December 30, certain nights at the zoo are kind of wild.
Wild Lights, the spectacular annual wintertime celebration, has returned.
Each year, the event seems bigger and better than ever.
This year's event features more than half a million spectacular lights, which transform a familiar landscape into a winter wonderland.
This dazzling display at the zoo has been recognized as one of the finest in the nation, and it is plain to see why.
During a typical evening at Wild Lights, visitors can cuddle up in the glow of campfires and make s'mores as they listen to storytellers.
And, the event is made magical with the sounds of live Christmas caroling.
You may even spot a cold-loving critter or two during your visit!
During the festivities, the Insectarium, Penguin & Puffin Coast, Polar Bear Point, and Sea Lion Sound will remain open.
Displays such as the Starry Safari, Jungle Bell Rock, and Winter Wildland will charm you instantly.
If you're feeling especially adventurous, you may even consider spending the night.
Want to make this holiday extra special? You'll always remember a Winter Wild Night at the Zoo. At this special event, you'll not only get to enjoy the stunning light displays, but a flashlight tour of "off limits" areas also awaits you. The coolest part of the evening is when it transitions into morning, and you awake and realize that you spent an entire unforgettable night in the zoo.
