Marvel At More Than 40 Sculptures At Missouri’s Most Magical Ice Festival This Winter
The 16th Annual Loop Ice Carnival in Missouri offers a fun-filled winter event with ice carvings, performances, and family-friendly activities.
Move over, summer. Winter just got a whole lot more fun. Sure, summer’s jam-packed with festivals and activities, but that doesn’t mean winter’s a snooze. Celebrate the beauty and the fun of the season with a visit to this one-day ice festival in Missouri. It’s sure to be one of the highlights of your winter.
Start counting down the days to the 16th Annual Loop Ice Carnival, set for Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
A family-friendly event that’s jam-packed with fun, the winter carnival will take place at Delmar Loop in University City.
Bring your sense of whimsy to this ice festival that will feature more than 40 ice carvings. You can even watch as artists transform blocks of ice into intricate masterpieces during ice carving demonstrations.
Keep an eye out for the ice ballerinas, jugglers, and stilt walkers, the latter portraying Jacqueline Frost, Blizzard Wizard, Snow Bird, and Snow Queen.
Be sure to bring a camera for the many photo-worthy opportunities that await.
The Loop Ice Carnival will also feature performances by FLUX INFERNOS, a fire and light performance group that’s scheduled to be on hand from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Join in on a scavenger hunt for temporary tattoos; watch the kiddos get their faces painted, and see if you can figure out the secret behind the strolling magicians’ tricks. Save room for some good eats, too.
