Blue Mound Wayside Chapel is a teeny-tiny chapel in the southwestern Minnesota town of Luverne. Address: 1449 US-75, Luverne, MN, 56156.
It is near the beautiful Blue Mounds State Park, a lovely nature area known for its wide-open prairie and pink quartzite cliffs.
The chapel, first built in 1963, has been around for more than 50 years.
Over the years, thousands of travelers have stopped in to marvel at this small, charming chapel. But it is more than a roadside attraction.
The chapel is meant to offer a place of peace and reflection to visitors. It is open 24 hours a day to anyone in need of a few quiet moments.
Inside, the chapel only has seating for a few people. A guest book invites visitors to sign their names and where they're from.
After you've had your fill of this tiny chapel, step outside to take in the scenery one last time.
This beautiful roadside stop is not only enchanting on its own, it's also one of many reasons why you should visit southwestern Minnesota!
