The Central Park Ice Skating Loop is a fun winter activity in Maple Grove, Minnesota. While it's one of a variety of fun winter activities in the park, it's easy to see why it's the local favorite!
One of the best things about the loop is that it is free to all. The setting is undeniably beautiful, so bring your skates and skate away! If you don't have any, there are skate rentals available at the Phenow Pavilion warming house.
Here are some fun facts to know before you hit the ice! The ice skating loop is 20 feet wide and 810 feet long, the perfect size to skate alone or in groups. If you get too cold at any point, you can head back to the warming house to warm up. It's typically open weekday evenings, and weekends from late morning to late evening.
Though ice games are not allowed - you'll need to leave your hockey sticks at home - the ice skating trail is an excellent way to learn to skate or practice skating this winter. When it comes to outdoor ice skating in Minnesota, it doesn’t get much better than the Central Park Ice Skating Loop.
Come ice skate at night for an even more festive ice skating experience. Trees decked out in Christmas lights frame the skating loop, and it's magical to witness. The whole family will adore the holiday spirit wrapped up in this exciting Maple Grove ice skating attraction.
If the warming house is closed, try warming up by the fire pit! It's especially lovely at night when the fire's warm glow is that much more soothing and magical.
