Minnesota’s First Multimedia Fun House Offers Tons Of Fun For All Ages
One of the big new things at Mall of America is Wink World, which opened at the end of 2023. It's a multimedia attraction in Minnesota that is the brainchild of Chris Wink, who is one of the co-founders, as well as the chief creative officer, of the popular Blue Man Group. We think this unique, new attraction at Mall of America is best described as an immersive fun house meets kaleidoscope experience, but you really just need to see - and experience - Wink World for yourself.
Wink World opened up to audiences at Mall of America in November 2023.
Created from Chris Wink's vision, the Wink World experience involves - like a Blue Man Group show - a lot of black light and neon, glow in the dark colors.
Part art installation, part fun house, and part immersive experience, Wink World is similar to what I imagine being inside a kaleidoscope would be like.
Unlike a kaleidoscope, however, the installations and exhibits at Wink World are multimedia, so they incorporate digital, video, and audio aspects that you won't find in most such gadgets.
Plus you can walk through them.
Each display challenges your senses and perspective in a different way.
Wink World accomplishes this by using a series of rooms enclosed by infinity mirrors, which creates hyper-dimensionality in relatively compact spaces.
The combination of light, motion, sound, and color creates a mesmerizing, almost psychedelic, experience for visitors.
Wink World describes itself as "multimedia art house meets carnival fun house" - I think you'll just have to experience it for yourself to find the appropriate description.
Mall of America is home to Wink World's second location. The first opened, not surprisingly, in Las Vegas. For more information about this unique multimedia attraction in Minnesota, or to buy tickets, check out Wink World on the web. You can also visit Wink World on Facebook for more photos and videos of the experience. Keep the carnival going while you're at MOA with a stop at The Fair on 4, a restaurant on the mall's fourth floor where you can enjoy fair food any time of year. I think it would be fun to visit Wink World in a black light clothes, myself.
