A favorite destination for antique lovers and thrifters in the Land of 10,000 Lakes is charming downtown Hopkins, MN. Among all the wonderful stores and emporia to explore on the town's historic Main Street, one shop, in particular, stands out. Hopkins Antique Mall is two floors of fun. Every time I stop in, I get lost among all the incredible, quirky trinkets, treasures, and tchotchkes to be found here. That's why I think it's one of the best antique and thrift shops in Minnesota.
Hopkins Antique Mall offers an incredible array of goods for sale from dozens of different vendors, each with their own specialty. Antique lamps? Check. Historic postcards from every state? Oh yeah. Classic beer paraphernalia? You betcha!
My favorite things to browse tend more toward the hard-to-find collectibles and home goods. The book and vinyl games are strong here, as well. I mean, who doesn't need an album of Finnish folk songs to break out at the next house party?
Whether you're decorating a party room or a parlor, a bathroom or a bedroom, or you just need some dishes for your kid's dorm room, Hopkins Antique Mall should be one of your destinations.
No matter what kind of treasure you're hunting or what your tastes are in antiques, you'll probably find something to tickle your fancy at this shop. And don't forget - there's even more to see downstairs!
I live fairly close to Hopkins and find myself there pretty often, so I get to pop into Hopkins Antique Mall on a regular basis and see what's new on the shelves. I am never disappointed - and even if you don't live as close as I do, it's definitely worth the trip. For hours and more information about the shop, visit Hopkins Antique Mall on the web. To get a feel for what's on the shelves, check out the antique mall's Facebook page. While you're in town, be sure to stop in at Cream and Amber - it's one of my favorite bookstores in Minnesota (and it's not just because the shop sells beer and coffee, as well). If you're from out of town and need a place to stay in Hopkins, be sure to check out this charming, Scandinavian-style Airbnb that's just minutes from Main Street.
