Walk Through A Winter Wonderland Of Lights This Holiday Season At The Big, Bright Light Show In Michigan

The holiday season is upon us, and that means your evenings will soon be spent admiring all of the wonderful light shows in Michigan. Just outside of Detroit, there’s one incredible light show that might be one of the most beautiful light shows in Michigan, and it’s worth a road trip from any corner of the state. Come along as we show you why we think this winter wonderland walk in Michigan is so magical.

Downtown Rochester is home to more than 300 stores in restaurants, and 85 percent of them are independent merchants.

It's a picture-perfect spot for a Michigan day trip no matter what time of year you visit, but during the holidays, it truly transforms.

The Big, Bright Light Show is one of the most unique light shows in Michigan.

This incredible light show boasts 1.2 million lights.

And they adorn every storefront on Main Street in downtown Rochester.

It's been an annual event since 2005, and it’s always a delightfully charming way to spend an evening celebrating the holiday season while supporting local Rochester businesses.

The lights turn on in November, and they stay on until mid-January.

It takes a long time to put this display together. Starting on October 1, multiple crews work seven days a week for eight weeks to have everything ready for the big reveal.

Supporting local businesses is important no matter where you are...

... but you’ll feel extra warm and fuzzy popping into these Rochester stores to grab a warm beverage and a sugary snack.

There are plenty of restaurants, too.

Make a night of it and enjoy a delicious meal in between strolling along the strip. Rochester has some of the best restaurants in Michigan!
