Muskegon Luge offers a unique nighttime luge experience through the forest in Michigan during winter.

Celebrate the Great Lakes State’s delightful snowy landscape with one of the most unique winter attractions in Michigan. During the snowy months, Muskegon Luge has a course where visitors can sled through the forest on a slide of ice. What makes this experience one-of-a-kind? You can luge at night under the starry Michigan night sky. Read on if you're curious to know more about this memorable, epic adventure you can experience only during winter in Michigan.

Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park is located in Muskegon, Michigan. The complex is nestled inside Muskegon State Park, which is right along Lake Michigan.

There are only four ice luge tracks in the United States, and this course is one of them. As one of the best winter attractions in Michigan, the 850-foot-long track is made of natural ice and has six curves with two starting points.

Participants will first receive training on how a luge sled works, how to steer, how to stop, and how to position their bodies on the sled. Speeds reach up to a staggering 30 miles per hour, and you will need to sign a waiver when you purchase your tickets for the Muskegon luge.

You will then be fitted with a proper sled and given a helmet and armpads to keep yourself safe. Now you’ll make the climb up to the top of the hill where you’ll sled down for the ride of your life!

Muskegon Luge makes accommodations for visitors with disabilities. The luge programs have sleds adapted with reigns for adventurers without lower body mobility. Lugers with visual or hearing impairments are also welcome and can be provided with additional or modified communication. This is another reason why this outdoor adventure is one of the best things to do in Michigan in winter.

If you think trying out a luge in the day sounds fun, wait until you fly through the forest at night. During your training, the luge track is lit with bonfires to keep you warm and to light your way.

Once you’re finished with the two-and-a-half-hour-long luge session, cozy up in the welcoming Fire Garden. Hot chocolate and coffee are served while you catch your breath from the exhilarating experience you had at one of the best winter attractions in Michigan.

Now that we've told you about the fun you'll have, what are you waiting for? To get started on planning your adventure, check out Muskegon Luge.
