These 10 Epic Waterparks in Michigan Will Take Your Summer To A Whole New Level
Michigan offers a variety of indoor waterparks that provide fun and safe environments for families year-round.
We love our fresh water in Michigan. But then again, there are still plenty of us who want all the fun of the water, without having to fuss over driving out to crowded and often frigid beaches. And also those of us with little ones who we prefer to have splashing around within safe proximity of a trained lifeguard.
That's the beauty of the waterpark. All the fun, in a safe, controlled environment. Plus many of these places have indoor facilities, meaning that the water can be enjoyed rain, snow, sleet, or shine. Last year we brought you 10 of our favorites. We're showcasing some of those spots this year, but with some additions from our lovely readers. Have a look.
1. Avalanche Bay, Boyne Falls
This is Michigan's largest indoor water park and features a lazy river, slides and kiddie pool.
2. Double JJ Resort, Rothbury
Featuring a "Lazy Crazy" river, wave pool, water fort, splash pool for the little kiddos, basketball, and hot tubs for the grown folks.
3. Flash Flood At Full Blast Recreation Center
This indoor/outdoor water park is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day, so make sure to get out there this season.
4. Gold Rush Water, New Era
Gold Rush is indoors so you don't have to concern yourself with that oh-so-unpredictable Michigan weather.

This place is great if your family wants to spend a few days out of town. Kids will have a blast, parents can leave the household chores behind during the hotel stay.
8. Splash Universe Indoor Water Park, Dundee

9. Spring Lake Community Fitness and Aquatic Center

10. Zehnder's Splash Village, Frankenmuth
This indoor spot features some 50,000+ square feet of aqua fun, including a six-story family raft ride, super loop body slide, and a zero-dept entry pool filled with water geysers, basketball, and volleyball.
