The Remnants Of This Dinosaur-Themed Amusement Park In Michigan Are Terribly Creepy

Discover the abandoned Prehistoric Forest in Irish Hills, featuring weathered dinosaur sculptures and remnants of a once tropical-themed park.

If you venture into a forest in Irish Hills, you will come across a long-forgotten roadside attraction with the most unusual features. As if ripped from a Jurassic Park sequel, you'll encounter gigantic sculptures of dinosaurs, now severely weathered by years of abandonment.

Yes, this is the Prehistoric Forest. First opened in the early 1960s, this strange place closed in 1999. Take a glimpse of what this place once was and the aging monsters that remain.

During its early days, the property had a tropical theme, with a waterfall, palm trees, a volcano, even a waterslide.

Sculptor James Q. Sidwell fashioned the prehistoric beasts to appear to be living life as they would tens of millions of years ago.

These days, the creatures have seen better days, but they remain, although buried under overgrowth.

This guy is looking a little bit, hmmm, mossy.

These days, curious roadtrippers make the journey to Irish Hills in search of these creepy, perhaps haunted beings.

We even see adventurous types shooting video of their discoveries... Brave souls, for sure.
