Sail Aboard This Harbor Cruise in Massachusetts Where You Can Dine With a View

Want to experience some great food and spectacular scenery? Embark on a fall Boston Harbor dinner cruise.

It’s fall in New England, and the leaf peepers will soon be out in droves, hoping to catch glimpses of colorful foliage views. While most seasonal tourists flock to the mountains or quaint little towns to celebrate the season, lots of autumn fun can still be experienced right on the waters of Boston Harbor. Those who embark on a signature dinner cruise aboard the Spirit of Boston cruiseship will be treated to an exciting night of great food, lively entertainment, and spectacular city and harbor views.

I’ve taken several harbor cruises during my time here in Massachusetts, and they never disappoint. I just love getting out on the water and seeing the city buildings and historical landmarks from a totally different vantage point. And fall is such a fantastic time to experience crisp ocean air and picturesque New England views.

Boston Harbor City Cruises offers several wonderful local boat experiences, such as ferry rides between Boston and Salem, exciting whale watching trips, and high-speed thrill rides on the Codzilla speed boat. However, one of the most impressive ships in their fleet is the Spirit of Boston, a gorgeous four-level boat that holds up to 600 guests.

The Spirit's Signature Dinner Cruise leaves from the dock in the early evening and sets sail for two to three hours. Grab a beer, wine, or cocktail from one of the boat’s four bars and then head up to the Sky Deck, where you will be treated to some of Boston’s best views. A DJ will spin tunes while you cruise by historic landmarks such as the Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge and Old Ironsides (USS Constitution). There are also several on-board interactive games to keep you entertained.

When it’s time to eat, head down to one of the inside dining decks. A fantastic buffet dinner, with fresh salads, main dishes, and delicious desserts, awaits you. Highlights include hand-carved tri-tip steak, spring garlic cream pasta, and citrus herb roasted salmon. For the best seats, be sure to reserve a table by the window where you can continue to enjoy the city views while you gather and savor your meal with friends.

Signature dinner cruises aboard the Spirit of Boston are offered nightly and run year-round. The boat’s decks are climate-controlled to ensure a comfortable trip, no matter what the crazy New England weather brings to the city. The Spirit of Boston also hosts private and corporate events and runs special holiday cruises, including a Thanksgiving lunch cruise and a Christmas Eve brunch sail.

The Spirit of Boston is docked at Boston’s Commonwealth Pier in the Seaport District. You can purchase tickets for the event and take an interactive ship tour at the City Cruises website. Additional information can be found at the City Experiences Facebook page. If you are looking to stay overnight in the Seaport area, I suggest booking a convenient stay at the nearby Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport.
