Enjoy a fantastic voyage down the Connecticut River on a charming riverboat on one of the most beautiful rivers in Massachusetts.
This cruise is operated by the Northfield Mountain Recreation and Environmental Center and will take you 12 miles down one of the most stunning stretches of this great waterway. The riverboat will glide through the French King Gorge and on to historic Barton Cove, which is one of the prettiest routes through this region.
You’ll be treated to a relaxing ride that is fully narrated, so you’ll learn about the natural beauty that surrounds you. An on-board interpreter will give you all sorts of information about your surroundings, which will include a bald eagle nesting site and a former dinosaur track quarry.
You’ll also learn about the history of the Connecticut River Valley. The tour takes about 1.5 hours, so it’s a great way to squeeze a bit of adventure and relaxation into your weekend without committing to a full-day activity.
It is perhaps one of the most fun things to do in Massachusetts and is a great activity for the whole family.
