This New Playground In Massachusetts Is Incredible

One of the things that I love most about visiting Boston is taking advantage of the many free things to do in the city. My family and I often take the train and spend the day wandering through the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway or taking in the sights along the Charles River Esplanade or the Boston Public Garden. There are so many parks, greenspaces, and neighborhoods to explore that spending the day in the city never gets old. And now there is a brand new free, family-friendly attraction that looks like so much fun!

If you are visiting the city with kids (or maybe even without), the Boston City Hall Playground should be on your family’s bucket list. This state-of-the-art playground opened less than a year ago and has already become a popular area attraction.

The playground was created as part of the Boston City Hall Plaza renovation project which reconstructed the large open plaza area to be more welcoming and accessible to all residents and visitors.

The new playground is 12,000 square feet and is made up of a variety of play structures, water areas, sensory activities, and seating for parents.

There are so many fun opportunities for the kids to climb up and over barriers, hide out in box-like structures, and swing in circles until they get dizzy.

And then there are the slides!

They are all different lengths, so kids of all ages will find them entertaining.

This one looks like so much fun!

Have you visited the new playground at City Hall Plaza? What did you think of the renovated space? While you are downtown, you may also want to visit the New England Aquarium and historic Faneuil Hall. For more family fun, check out our list of some of the best playgrounds in the state.
