Piscataway Park is located at 3400 Bryan Point Road in Accokeek, Maryland.
This Maryland park is mostly known for National Colonial Farm. It's a farm museum where you can learn about early agriculture in Maryland, circa the 1700s.
Piscataway Park is also home to several walking trails. Each one is different, offering serene views along the way.
While exploring, you may also come across Marshall Hall, a historic mansion that dates all the way back to 1690.
Here's a look at the mansion in its prime...
...and here it is a few decades ago, clearly aged and neglected. The wrap-around porch is long-gone.
Today, Marshall Hall is a husk of its former self. The roof is completely gone and so are the windows, now hollowed out memories.
Speaking of memories, this mansion has been through a lot throughout the centuries. It was built as a home, but was later part of an amusement park and casino in the late 1800s. The amusement park was eventually torn down in 1980, but the mansion was left standing.
Soon after, a fire destroyed much of the house and then a truck slammed into the building in 2003.
When you think about how much this building has been through, it's pretty impressive, and inspiring, that it still stands.
You can't explore the inside of Marshall Hall, but you can take plenty of pictures from just outside of the fence. The withered facade makes for interesting, eerie photos.
