In Maine, there are a few things that you won't find anywhere else. They include, the most beautiful coastline in America, perfectly made lobster rolls, some brutal winters and...this very unique shop that caters to everything blueberry! If you love the more obscure attractions in Maine and you're a lover of all things blueberry, make the trip to this place. It's not hard to spot, as you'll see in the photos!
While you may know that this unique blueberry shaped attraction exists in Maine, there's more to it than just a cool building.
With its bright blue exterior and fun objects outside, Wild Blueberry Land in Columbia Falls certainly looks unique as you approach.
It's owned by Dell and Marie Emerson, who do far more than own this special place.
Dell worked on the only wild blueberry research farm in America for 53 years. And, Marie is an award-winning chef who has taught for 30 years in the Maine Community College system.
They are a farmer and chef team dedicated to the preservation of one of the last wild and natural crops grown commercially, Maine's wild blueberries.
Wild Wescogus Berries, the Emerson's farm land is comprised of about 160 acres of farm located above the Pleasant River known for Wild Atlantic Salmon. From the farm, you'll even have 60 mile views towards Cadillac Mountain.
The outside offers TONS of cool blue photo ops, along with a fun miniature golf course when it's warm outside.
But, you'll want to spend your time at the shop.
Inside you'll find a veritable wonderland of all things blueberry!
The blueberry goodness available include: pies, muffins, scones, jams, jellies, baking mixes, candy, teas and coffee, ice cream, dog treats, salsa, vinegar, dressings and smoothies.
And, you're sure to have a good time exploring the store!
