If There’s One Fall Festival You Attend in Maine, Make It the Freeport Fall Festival

The beloved Freeport Fall Festival is getting ready for its best year yet—save the date for October 3rd-5th, 2025.

When the summer heat starts to retreat and cool air sweeps in, you know it’s fall in Maine. The green of one season gives way to a vast array of colors everywhere you look. This beautiful display is something that we have celebrated for years and years. One of the best Maine fall festivals is undoubtedly the Freeport Fall Festival, a perfect excuse to get outside and celebrate everything we love about autumn in Vacationland.

With over 200 vendors of culinary arts, crafts, family activities, live music, and a whole lot more, this is one of the best family-friendly fall festivals in Maine. This year's event is scheduled between October 3rd and 5th, 2025.

So what can you expect? The Freeport Fall Festival transforms this little town into a bustling and lively autumn celebration. This three-day festival is spread out across the L.L. Bean campus, Freeport Village Station, Key Bank lawn, and the corners of West and Main Streets. The schedule is packed full of activities and fun, so make sure to check the lineup of events throughout the weekend. The best part of all? There's truly something for all ages to enjoy, so be sure to bring the whole family.

Another thing you should bring? Your appetite! There will be a wide variety of food trucks and culinary arts to indulge in. One of my favorites in previous years was Athena’s Cantina Food Truck with a mix of Latin-infused foods. Food can be art, too, after all! You'll find everything from artistically crafted charcuterie boxes and cones to mounds of delicious nachos.

If you make your way to the L.L. Bean Discovery Park, then you will see a massive lineup of musical talent. This stage has been shared with some pretty incredible nationally recognized talent over the years, and this year will be no different. If you have seen a live performance here, you know you are in for a treat.

Get ready to do a little shopping, too. Painters, crafters, and artists will line the streets with their beautiful works of art, ones you can only expect to find in Maine. You can find everything from cute pet toys to paintings, woodworking pieces, and so much more. These are just a small sampling of the amazing art that will be found throughout the event. You won't want to leave without that perfect souvenir.

So whether you're there for the food, the music, the community, or that crisp fall air, you'll be so glad you celebrated fall in Maine at this iconic fall festival.
