If you’ve lived (or visited!) in Maine for long enough it might fee like you’ve seen and done it all. It’s possible that the only time you get inventive is when you have friends or family visiting and they expect a few special adventures. This is definitely a great way to try some new things, but we also believe that exploring new areas and activities is fun to do for no good reason at all. If you agree, consider checking out this unique tour that’s entirely done on horseback. Remember to check out the bottom of this article for all the details you'll need to reserve your ride!
Deepwood Farm, located in Bethel, offers a beautiful place for horse lovers to enjoy riding lessons, trail rides, and summer camps.
In operation in the White Mountains of Maine since 1990, DiAnne and Wyatt Ward have created a dream place to visit for anyone with a love or interest in getting into horses and riding.
While it's a lovely place for those who are already avid riders, we love the one-hour trail rides that can be reserved for just $40.
And, while a lot of local attractions and activities are mostly operational in the summer and fall, we love that Deepwood Farm offers trail rides throughout the year.
Each trail ride can accommodate up to six riders. The route will take visitors through the woods of the area as well as streams.
In the summer it's great fun to stop and enjoy some time at the streams.
The foothills of the White Mountains offer some of the most beautiful views in the state. And there's simply no better way to see it than on horseback led by DiAnne.
Deepwood Farm offers one-hour trail ride tours for $40. Trail rides leave at various times, so be sure to get in touch to check availability and to reserve a space. And if you're a more experienced rider the farm can accommodate a longer trip. You can learn more about them by checking out their website. You can also follow them on Facebook. If you have questions or would like to make a reservation give them a call on 207-824-2595.
If you love the idea of exploring Maine without actually doing the work, how about a sleigh ride? You can enjoy a 30-minute sleigh ride through a winter wonderland in Casco in Maine.
