Maine’s Largest Walk-Thru Christmas Light Display Belongs At The Top Of Your Holiday Bucket List

There's nothing better than the light displays that have popped up all over Maine! From the homemade versions that require days of work to the ones constructed by professionals in our larger towns and cities, there's nothing quite like them that brings us into the holiday spirit. And each year we especially look forward to one very special event in Boothbay Harbor. This year the Gardens Aglow will be better than ever as they offer some additional walk-thru light displays. This is a very exciting announcement that is sure to be the best Christmas lights in Maine.

The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay Harbor offers one of the most beautiful ways to get close to nature. And while winter might mean a break, we always look forward to their incredible light display, Gardens Aglow.

While in the past, the gardens have allowed visitors to drive through the grounds to explore, this year, to bring the magic and fun to everyone, Gardens Aglow is set up for walking again -- with even more paths to explore!

You can still expect more than 750,000 lights to greet you when you visit.

The grounds will be illuminated again with an enchanted forest walkthrough. The pond will be glimmering in the sparking light once again. Crowds of people will be eyeing the magic of this wonderful garden.

The event is even more special when it lightly snows. In fact, things are even more sparkly when it's wet.

Freely walking in the garden and seeing the lights is an event you won't soon forget!

Gardens Aglow 2023 at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens will take place from Nov. 18 - Dec. 31, Thursday-Sunday, plus select dates. The arrival times are 4:00 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. The event will be closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
