Spirits Take The Stage At The Hauntingly Beautiful Shreveport Auditorium In Louisiana

Louisiana plays host to a number of ghost stories and paranormal encounters. Of course, perhaps the most famous ghost story in Louisiana is the ghost of Chloe at the Myrtles Plantation, but she's just one of the hundreds of ghost stories you'll hear about when it comes to the spooky side of Louisiana. Up in northern Louisiana, there's a historic building that may be known for helping launch the career of Elvis Presley, but it also has a paranormal history that's worth investigating. Let's take a closer look.

Built in the 1920s, the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium is one of the most beautiful examples of Art Deco construction in Louisiana.

And that’s just the beginning of what makes this building so fascinating.

Back in the 40s and 50s, it was a launching pad for some of the most talented musicians the country has ever seen.

In 1948, a program called The Louisiana Hayride was launched, a weekly showcase featuring performers of all types.

It became known as the Cradle of the Stars, helping to launch the careers of some of the most famous musicians the country has ever seen.

Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Jonny Horton and even Elvis Presley all performed here.

Today, it’s a popular venue for some of today’s popular musicians to swing through.

The auditorium hosts a number of different acts, ranging from sporting events to live concerts.

Like so many historic buildings in Louisiana, there’s bound to be a ghost story or two floating around.

And the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium has its fare share of paranormal experiences.

There seem to be a few lingering spirits that take the stage.

One of the most commonly seen spirits is that of a little girl in a blue dress, who is frequently seen running around the auditorium.

Another, more haunting tale is that of a disembodied woman’s voice heard screaming in the basement bathroom

As the story goes, a woman gave birth in that bathroom, and many believe she comes back, reliving that moment. Maybe the girl in the blue dress is the woman’s daughter? You decide.
