1. Backbone Trail

Nestled in the Kisatchie National Forest, the Backbone Trail is a 10-mile loop trail located near Provencal, Louisiana. This moderately difficult trail offers a unique terrain you don’t typically see in Louisiana, and some wonderful views of the forest.

2. Barataria Preserve

Take a stroll through the swamp through a series of boardwalk trails that allow you to go through parts you wouldn’t be able to access otherwise. There are several trails, all less than three miles so you can mix and match to make your adventure unique. Theres a beautiful overlook at the end of the Bayou Coquille Trail that’s absolutely stunning. Barataria Preserve is located at 6588 Barataria Blvd, Marrero, LA, 70073.

3. Creole Nature Trail

Some of the most amazing views in Louisiana are located on this 180-mile All American Road. There are several spots to get out and explore, and you’re bound to see alligators, turtles, birds, and more.

4. Cypremort Point State Park

Overlooking Vermilion Bay, Cypremort Point State Park is one of the best places to watch the sunset in Louisiana. Cypremort Point State Park is located at 306 Beach Lane, Cypremort Point, LA 70538.

5. Driskill Mountain Trail

The Driskill Mountain Trail will bring you to the highest natural summit in the state. Clocking in at 535 feet, it’s an easy trail to hike and very rewarding once you reach the top.

6. Grand Isle State Park

Venture down to the tip of the boot for an incredible experience. The Grand Isle State Park has a few nature trails to explore. It’s an excellent place for bird watching, and there’s a boardwalk and an observation tower so you can get a grand view of the area.

7. Lake Claiborne State Park

Lake Claiborne State Park has several nature trails and a lovely beach with absolutely stunning views of Lake Claiborne. Located at 225 State Park Road, Homer, Louisiana 71040.

8. Longleaf Vista Trail

Also located in the Kisatchie National Forest, this 1.5-mile loop trail is perfect for those not wanting to tackle the 10-mile Backbone Trail above. The trail is located near Cloutierville, rated as moderate, and offers beautiful views of the rolling hills of the forest.

9. Red River National Wildlife Refuge Yellow Trail

The loop trail is roughly three miles long and is a good trail for all skill levels. The Red River National Wildlife Refuge has multiple trails, and each trail is clearly marked and beautiful views. The Refuge is located at 150 Eagle Bend Point, Bossier City, LA 71112.

10. Restoration Park

This one mile walking trail is set in a wooded environment and offers beautiful views. Located at 700 Downing Pines, West Monroe, Louisiana 71292.

11. Toledo Bend Reservoir Loop Trail

The mile and a half loop trail leads you around the reservoir and you’ll see some remarkable views of South Toledo Bend on the trail. Located at 120 Bald Eagle Road, Anacoco, Louisiana 71403.
