Immerse Yourself in Art—and Air Conditioning—at JAMNOLA in New Orleans

JAMNOLA is a celebration of New Orleans music, art, and culture, and it's a great place to cool down on a hot summer day in The Crescent City.

Anyone who has ever spent time in New Orleans knows that it can and will be extremely HOT and humid there in the summer. This is not a detriment; in fact, it's actually part of the city's charm. However, anyone who doesn't love sweating constantly will surely be seeking some shade—or, far better yet, some serious air conditioning—in July and August in The Crescent City. While sitting in your air-conditioned apartment, house, or hotel room is certainly an option in these trying times, what fun is that? You're sure to have a more enjoyable and memorable time if you actually go out and DO something.

Sure, New Orleans is full of museums and galleries, but you've probably done that already. One thing you may not have done yet is a visit to JAMNOLA. This art installation and museum on vibrant Frenchmen Street is a fun and unique way to celebrate the city's art, music, and culture with exhibits unlike anything you've ever seen before.

New Orleans is full of amazing things, but three of the most noticeable and memorable are joy, art, and music. These three things are everywhere you go and everywhere you look. That's where JAMNOLA gets its name. In fact, this unique and immersive art experience captures all three of those things in its acronymic name and throughout its interior.

Inside this space, you'll find 29 exhibits created collectively by over 100 local artists. As you walk through this vast space, you'll find cool creations and lots and lots of photo opportunities. You might want to eat beforehand, because pieces like the giant crawfish in a tub (pictured above) are sure to make you a little hungry!

This place is full of photo opportunities galore. Put your hands on this glowing jar of absinthe, and think of the millions of curious concoctions that have been made in this city over the past several centuries.

Of course, New Orleans wouldn't be New Orleans without Mardi Gras! You'll love the exhibits that invoke the parades and celebrations that are such a huge part of this amazing city's culture and heartbeat. Music is another huge aspect of New Orleans' soul.

JAMNOLA is special, unique, and cool. It's not just "cool," though, it's actually COOL temperature-wise, too. You'll love exploring this unique museum and taking lots of photos far from the heat and humidity. The air conditioning inside JAMNOLA is at full blast, so take your time wandering through this interesting and curious space.

JAMNOLA is a great way to spend a hot summer's day in NOLA. Have a blast — of cool air, that is — and of good times, too. And afterward, if you're looking for more fun on Frenchmen Street, consider this Frenchmen Street VIP Live Music Pub Crawl. Not only is it a fantastic way to spend an evening, but some of the places this tour visits along the way are likely to be air-conditioned, too.
