The most haunted bridge in Louisiana can be found on Bayou Tortue Road, which is right outside of Broussard, Louisiana.

This intriguing piece of Louisiana history is on the way to St. Martinville in the heart of Acadiana.

The Mary Jane bridge has had rumors of hauntings swirling around it for years.

It all began with a prom date gone awry.

Apparently, a young girl named Mary Jane and her prom date visited this bridge to hold hands and get some time alone.

But something went terribly wrong and she was never seen again. Some think that her date killed her and then threw her body into the bayou. It was never discovered.

Ever since then, numerous people have reported seeing a young woman ghost on the bridge, often in white light.

Others have said that this bridge has become a place for satanic rituals.

Most recently, a police officer in the late 80s reported seeing a young woman wearing white and standing on the bridge.

After asking if she needed help, she just stared at him in the eye and disappeared. The police officer was afraid to cross the bridge ever since.
