The Wheat Festival is a long-standing tradition in the Sunflower State. This festival first began in 1900 and takes place each year in Wellington, the county seat of Sumner County.
Fun Fact of the Day: Sumner County is known as the Wheat Capital of the World. The county earned this title by regularly producing more wheat than anywhere else around the globe.

The annual parade is a favorite event for adults and children alike. The parade’s theme for 2021 is “Traveling Through the Decades” and it will take place Friday, July 9, at 8:00 p.m.
