Did you know that there's a historic bathhouse in Iowa? It's the oldest pool bathhouse in the Hawkeye State and the only significant example left standing of the many federally sponsored Works Progress Administration buildings constructed in Iowa in the 1930s as part of the New Deal.

As such, it's listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Built in a distinctly modern art style, the bathhouse is a rare example of Art Moderne and International Style architecture.

Although it's been threatened with destruction at various times in the past decades, the city and the people of Decorah, Iowa have rallied together around this historic structure to preserve and promote it.

As stated earlier, this bathhouse is a pool bathhouse. The Decorah Municipal Pool is an excellent place to spend a fun afternoon, no matter your age.
