Quickly: think of three things that are coming to an end soon. If you said "the world" first, well, I can't help you with that one - but if you said something like, say, summer, unfortunately, you are correct. It's the time of year in which summer begins to wane and autumn creeps in, but not all of us are ready for pumpkin spice and spooky festivals just yet. Some of us want to hold on to that last, waning thread of summer, so I went ahead and found the perfect way to bring everything to a close. Come check out this adorable pontoon boat offering tiki tours in Indiana right on the beautiful Geist Reservoir.
Geist Reservoir is a little slice of paradise with sparkling blue water covering about 1,890 acres.
It's a popular place among the locals, and there's a whole community built around it. It's a must-do if you're a Hoosier, even if only once.
...but I'm pretty sure you're going to want to keep coming back for at least one attraction.
The relatively new (it opened in May 2023) tiki tour company known as The Fizzy Floater now calls Geist Reservoir home. What better way to celebrate summer (be it the arrival or departure of) than by enjoying some truly one-of-a-kind aquatic shenanigans?
With up to 12 passengers allowed at a time, this is one of those awesome options for groups of family or friends - no passengers under 21, though, please.
Bring your own food and beverages - bonus points for tiny umbrellas. Be sure to bring your phone for the best tunes - there's a Bluetooth speaker available onboard to connect to.
Your party can be low-key or totally vibing - it's entirely up to you.
Beverages allowed onboard include beer, seltzer, cider, and wine. You can also bring non-alcoholic drinks, in paper, plastic or aluminum only. No glass containers - it's not good for the denizens of the lake. Prepared food is also encouraged!
Whether you're going on the coolest first date of all time, celebrating a birthday, or just doing things for funsies, you're sure to love your adventure on the water.
Who says you can't have a full-on cruise day in the Midwest? Now you most certainly can - no oceans, cruise ships or random, unknown passengers needed.
Tours are available day and night, rain or shine.
Tours typically take place from Wednesday through Sunday, though you can book appointment-only adventures on Mondays and Tuesdays. You can book online or by phone - I just recommend trying to do it in advance.
For more information including frequently asked questions, check out the official Fizzy Floater website. Come celebrate the waning of summer with a brand-new local business! You're sure to want to keep returning time and time again.
