Lullwater Preserve Park in Georgia is a secret spot for Emory University students, faculty, and employees that offers solitude, privacy, and a hidden suspension bridge that crosses over to some 1920s ruins. Sounds like a pretty dreamy secret, right?

Lullwater Preserve Park at Emory University remains much of a hidden gem for many outsiders in Georgia.

The Lullwater Trail offers scenic loops through nature within the North Decatur campus near Atlanta.

With trails clocking in under three miles, there are a few highlights along the way that are worth checking out in person, starting with the beautiful suspension bridge.

This bridge crosses the tumbling waterway, taking hikers through the old-growth tree canopy.

When visitors cross this wood and steel bridge downstream, they’ll open up access to another main component of this secret spot - the stone ruins of the 1920s powerhouse.

The powerhouse once provided electricity to the Lullwater House estate nearby, which is a private 1926 Tudor mansion that was built for Walter Candler, son of the Coca-Cola founder.

Hikers can visit the ruins of the former octagonal powerhouse, which opens up to the sky above in a perfectly majestic way.
