The One Georgia City With A Positively Magical Secret
Tiny Doors ATL is an art project in Atlanta featuring small, hidden doors designed to inspire curiosity and exploration.
There has been a bit of whimsy peppering the city of Atlanta for the past couple of years, and truth be told, if you're not looking for it you probably will walk right on by.
Atlanta, Georgia is covered with tiny doors. These tiny doors have been perfectly constructed and added to secret spots throughout the city, in hopes to inspire more curiosity and wonder within the Atlanta community. Maybe you have seen a few and thought nothing of it, but for those of you who have wondered about these tiny little doors, this is your chance to be inspired.
There are tiny doors hiding all over the wonderful city of Atlanta, Georgia.
Each tiny door has been carefully constructed in a particular community in order to inspire the curiosity to wonder what's behind the door....
...or what life goes on behind these small little portals.
Sometimes the artists actually create the scenes behind the door, in order to replicate real life, just on a MUCH smaller level.
The project began in the summer of 2014, when principal artist and director Karen Anderson wanted to "to inspire curiosity and exploration by highlighting neighborhoods and landmarks that make Atlanta unique."
Urban adventurers and art lovers alike enjoyed these interactive pieces of the city, which soon became a highlight for anyone lucky enough to stumble upon one.
Some tiny doors were even commissioned by famed artists to create their own canvas...
Communities even get creative and decorate the area around the tiny doors, like the one the Grant Park community did for Halloween.
Some Tiny Doors are so tiny, you really can't seem them from where you are walking...
Which is why you always need to keep an eye out, because you never know what you're missing out on.
Free to visit and open to people of all ages, Tiny Doors ATL is wonderful hidden gem art project throughout the city of Atlanta, worth taking the time to appreciate.
There are currently 12 doors in existence in Georgia, and the perfect map to find each one. You can access the map in entirety here.
