The Massive Mall in Georgia That Takes Nearly All Day to Explore

Discover the largest mall in Georgia, with over 1,800,000 square feet and 200 stores. It's an all-day shopping adventure!

Are you a fan of shopping in traditional malls? Well, you’ve got to experience a one-day shopping trip in Georgia at the Mall of Georgia in Buford. With 1.8 million square feet of retail space and approximately 200 stores, there's a lot to explore here, and you could easily spend all day walking through it. Plus, since it’s only 35 miles from Atlanta, this mall is a must-visit for those seeking serious retail therapy.

Of course, we all love the convenience of shopping online, but there's something to be said about the experience of holding items in your hands before purchasing them. Many of us have fond memories of hanging out at the mall as teenagers with our friends, and while your local mall may not have been quite as massive as the Mall of Georgia, a trip here is sure to make you reminisce about the old days. The last time I visited the mall, I spent several hours there, and it was an unbelievable shopping experience. The kid-friendly activities made the trip well worth it, and chances are, you will enjoy shopping at this massive shopping mall in Georgia, too.

The Mall of Georgia opened in 1999 and is the largest mall in Georgia and one of the biggest malls in the Southeast. The building features three floors, five anchor stores, and a variety of shops and restaurants. You could easily spend all day here. In addition to more than 200 Mall of Georgia stores, there's also a 20-screen theater, a 500-seat amphitheater, and an old-fashioned carousel. If you have little ones, the carousel is a wonderful way for them to experience this unique mall.

The food court is huge and contains several options for quick grab-and-go meals, plus more formal sit-down restaurants like Red Robin and The Cheesecake Factory. You'll find a huge variety of shops, from nationally-known chains to smaller independent vendors who rent out space in the mall.

Personally, I enjoy that the mall has both indoor and outdoor spaces. The outdoor Village-like atmosphere is great, especially when the weather is nice. You can spend additional time browsing and eating here, and it truly comes alive during the holiday with dazzling lights.

Whether you're looking for clothes, home goods, or gifts, chances are good you'll find what you're looking for at this massive mall. Nowadays, we're all used to purchasing items sight unseen from our phones or computers with a few clicks. But there's something to be said for the timeless experience of browsing through a shopping mall.
