The One-Of-A-Kind Artisan Market In Florida That You Could Spend Hours Exploring
Shopping for hours might not be everyone’s cup of tea. Personally, if I can avoid the shopping malls here in Miami at all costs, especially on weekends, I will. That’s why my preference is to usually find the smaller markets, where parking is a bit easier, and the local businesses are abundant. One of my favorite places to visit when I’m in the central part of the state is the East End Market, which is a local artisan market in Orlando, Florida. This is the perfect place to grab some delicious food, shop for some plants, hunt for housewares, and so much more.
I stumbled across the East End Market accidentally, as I was searching for the famed vegan Southern spot Winter Park Biscuit Company. This is by far one of the best vegan chicken sandwich spots I’ve ever come across. Highly recommend.
However, the rest of the market was a welcomed surprise! This bustling marketplace is a true gem in the Audubon Park neighborhood, offering a delightful blend of artisanal foods, handcrafted goods, and a welcoming community atmosphere.
As you step into the East End Market, you’ll find a diverse array of stalls and shops.
From freshly baked bread to locally sourced produce, from gourmet coffee to artisanal cheeses, there's something to tempt every palate. The market celebrates the farm-to-table concept, with many of the vendors proudly sourcing their ingredients from nearby farms, ensuring a fresh and sustainable culinary experience.
What sets the East End Market apart from your regular, run-of-the-mill malls is its commitment to supporting local entrepreneurs and artisans.
The market is a platform for small businesses to thrive, offering them a space to showcase their talents and creations.
One of my personal favorites for sweets inside the market is Gideon’s Bakehouse. Picture what a business would be if Edgar Allan Poe decided to make delicious gourmet monster cookies.
Also, you might catch an outdoor market on certain days when you visit, too. This nearly quadruples the local vendors that you’ll find.
So the next time you find yourself in Central Florida, make sure to head on over to East End Market, where you can spend hours perusing all there is to see.
