There’s No Church In The World Like This One In Connecticut

Whether you're religious or not, there's something magnificent about a beautiful church. They typically have interesting architecture, and the stained glass windows are so ornate. We have a lot of beautiful churches in Connecticut, but one that is distinctly unique is the First Presbyterian Church in Stamford. This is one of the most unusual churches in the world, from its odd outside shape to its breathtaking beauty inside.

The first thing you'll notice about the First Presbyterian Church is its unique outside appearance.

It almost looks like a futuristic compound of some sort, and gives little hint to the colorful beauty that lies inside.

The 260-foot tall Maguire Memorial Tower serves as the church's bell tower, and even it resembles something from a science fiction film.

From the air, you can see that the church resembles a fish, an important symbol in Christianity. The unique shape gives the church its nickname, Fish Church.

The interior is where the church's beauty truly shines.

The oddly-shaped windows are filled with more than 20,000 pieces of faceted glass.

Even when the church is dim, the windows are absolutely stunning.

One wall of windows features images from Christ's crucifixion, and the other depicts the resurrection.

No matter your religious beliefs, this is an amazingly beautiful church that has to be considered one of the most magnificent manmade wonders of Connecticut.
