The Delectable Goods From This Cheese Store In Connecticut Are Worth The Drive To Get Them

The Cheese Shop of Centerbrook in Connecticut offers a wide variety of cheeses from around the world and other specialty foods.

When it comes to foods just about everyone loves, chocolate might take the cake (no pun intended), but cheese has to be up there, too. Maybe you prefer a nice sharp aged Cheddar, or something a little milder like a good Swiss. Regardless of your favorite variety, there are some great cheese stores in Connecticut where you can get your fix. One of our favorites is the Cheese Shop of Centerbrook. This small market has cheeses from all over the world and the expertise to help you with all your cheese-related questions.

Tucked away in Centerbrook, a hamlet of Essex, the Cheese Shop is owned by Paul Partica, a master cheesemonger with more than 50 years of experience.

The shop isn't huge, but it's got an impressive selection! They've got cheeses from all over the world.

You can even pick up cheese-related items here, like fondue kits, meat, and crackers. And they've got plenty of other specialty foods like pickled asparagus and imported sardines.

If you're accustomed to the basic cheeses available in a grocery store cooler, you'll be thrilled to see the variety here. Uncommon types, hard cheeses that have been aged for years, a number of different blue cheeses...

...and even this 92-pound wheel of Parmesan Reggiano!

Many of the cheeses available here have been imported from overseas. Sampling a few of the cheeses from here will make you feel like you're on a world tour.

Jet-setting visitors often remark that they are surprised to see certain specialty cheeses here that they thought were only available in other countries.

If you like cheese (and most people do!), it doesn't get much better than a visit to The Cheese Shop of Centerbrook. It's one of the best cheese stores in Connecticut.

Take a look at The Cheese Shop's website: you can even order some of their products online.
