The Hidden Castle Near Denver That Almost No One Knows About

Located just 15 miles west of Denver, Dunafon Castle was originally built in 1941.

The current owners purchased the property in 2004 and immediately began restoring the castle and overgrown grounds to their former self. Utilizing existing blueprints, old photographs, and personal interviews with surviving members of the Wright and Barnes families (previous owners), the Dunafon Castle is once again a stunning sight to behold.

This castle was built on a peninsula which provides spectacular views of the crystal clear waters of Bear Creek.

The 17 acre property is home to three large trout ponds and gorgeous garden grounds.

The 21-foot water wheel only adds to this extraordinary setting.

The castle's stately grounds are occupied by a full-time care taker.

Although Dunafon Castle is primarily a residential property, they do occasionally host charity benefits, corporate gatherings, and private special occasions.

As you can imagine, the castle provides an ideal setting for storybook weddings.

They open their gates from May through October for weddings.

The magical ambiance creates an ideal backdrop for cocktail parties, dances, and elegant dinners.

The Dunafon Castle exterior can be viewed via a hike or bike ride along Bear Creek Trail at Lair O' The Bear Park near Morrison.
