You Can See Dozens Of One-Of-A-Kind Art Cars At Art Cartopia, A Free Museum In Colorado
Art Cartopia Museum in Trinidad, Colorado, offered a unique collection of art cars and hosted community events before its closure.
If you live in or have ever visited the great Centennial State, you may have noticed that it is a downright expensive place to be. While nearly everything here is worth the high cost, free and discounted attractions can be a nice change of pace, which is exactly what you will find at the one-of-a-kind Art Cartopia Museum.
Editor's Note: Unfortunately, Art Cartopia Museum has been permanently closed.
Billed as being the "Greatest Art Car Museum on Earth" (if not the only!), Art Cartopia is one of those quirky Only in Colorado places that you have to see to believe!
Located in Trinidad, the Art Cartopia Museum is home to 25 - you guessed it - art cars, all of which are adorned in the most head-turning of decor.
Opened in the fall of 2018, the Art Cartopia Museum is on a mission to share the "fun spirit and creativity of art cars," which is a concept that was invented nearly 35 years ago and is just now making its way to Colorado.
When you visit, be sure to keep your eyes peeled, as there is plenty to see and enjoy at the Museum, as each car is decked out differently.
In addition to the cars themselves, Art Cartopia hosts several special community events, ranging from Trash n' Fashion shows to the Artocade festival and various expos.

Art Cartopia is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission to the Museum is free.
