Filoli Historic House & Garden in the Bay Area town of Woodside is a stunning architectural gem on the National Register of Historic Places. It is recognized as one of the finest remaining country estates of the early 20th century and offers a window into the grandeur of a bygone era. It is also home to one of the world’s largest collections of ivy.

Originally constructed as a private residence in 1917, Filoli transitioned into a public treasure in 1975 when it was established as a nonprofit.

Today Filoli is owned by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and is open to the public.

The property stands as a living testament to the grace and grandeur of the 20th century, featuring a magnificent 54,000+ square-foot Georgian revival-style mansion.

This 654-acre estate is located on the eastern slope of the Santa Cruz Mountains and a short drive from San Francisco.

One of Filoli's most captivating features is its 16-acre English Renaissance garden, meticulously designed to perfection.

Guests can explore the meticulously manicured garden and lawns, and enjoy the elegant water features.

To learn more about the gardens on the property, Filoli showcases a 6.8-acre Gentleman's Orchard, where a variety of historic fruit trees take root.

The orchard provides insight into the cultivation of these timeless trees and their historical significance.

Beyond the mansion and gardens, Filoli boasts hundreds of acres of natural lands, featuring five distinct ecosystems that are home to a rich diversity of wildlife.

To explore these natural wonders, visitors can follow the 1-mile Estate Trail, which offers a deeper connection with the local environment and its ecological wonders. This property sits on the unceded ancestral lands of the Ramaytush Ohlone.
