12 Unforgettable Things You Must Add To Your San Francisco Summer Bucket List
Sure, the days may be longer, but will we actually see the sun this summer? That’s the question us San Franciscans all wonder come June. Hence, the famous quote: "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco." (And no, it wasn’t Mark Twain who said it.) But what’s some fog, when you’ve got free concerts, a street food festival, and a World Champion baseball team to enjoy? Here are a few unforgettable things to add to your San Francisco summer bucket list.
1. Take in a free concert (or ballet) at Stern Grove.
2. Eat, drink, sing, and dance your heart out at the Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival.
3. Show your Pride.
4. Catch a classic flick at Film Night in the Park.
5. Get to AT&T Park to see the World Champion Giants play (and to eat garlic fries and drink wine, of course).
6. Or pass on the baseball and go see the San Francisco Opera at AT&T Park.
7. Bundle up, grab a bottle of wine, and head to Ocean Beach for a bonfire.
8. Hit one of the many fantastic trails throughout the city for a lovely hike or two.
9. Stuff yourself at the San Francisco Street Food Festival.
10. Discover some of the coolest DIY fashion and design at the Renegade Craft Fair.
11. BYOB to Golden Gate Park for the annual Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival. Sure, it technically happens after the fall equinox, but this is San Francisco's true summer.
12. Or just get out of San Francisco all together: Go north to Marin or the wine country, east to Tahoe or Yosemite, or south to Monterey/Carmel/Big Sur. Most likely, any of those places will be warmer than San Francisco in the summer. And they’re all just as spectacular. (Pictured is the spectacular Alamere Falls.)
