Mark Your Calendars, As This Rail-to-Rail Path Is Coming Soon To Southern California

Public transit in Southern California is not as popular as in other large cities, as people have to drive to get to the majority of destinations. But in Los Angeles, it’s about to get easier with a 5.5-mile-long path that people in Inglewood and South LA can use to get to many different Metro bus and rail lines.

Whether you’re in this area or you’re just visiting, this is great news for ease of transportation.

The pathway is going to be usable by those who want to walk or bike between metros, so it’s flexible and easy to use no matter how you prefer to get around.

It’s being built on old railway tracks that haven’t been used in a long time, and it will be great to revitalize it and turn it into such a useful piece of land.

It’s especially helpful that this pathway will be in historically disadvantaged communities and will aid in low-cost transportation for everyone, allowing people in the area to get around without having to have a car.

The places the path will connect include Hyde Park, Chesterfield Square, Central-Alameda, South Park, Harvard Park, and Vermont-Slauson.

The project might even extend to the Los Angeles River, making it easy to go further east. This part of the construction is still being researched, so it’s not definite quite yet.

The path will be well-landscaped and will connect areas from the future K-line. Stations included on the path include Crenshaw/LAX, Fairview Heights Station, Metro J Line’s Silver Slauson Station, and Metro A Line’s Blue Slauson Station.

The project will cost $143 million and is currently on track to be completed in 2024.
