Game Häus heralds itself as the first board game cafe in Southern California, and it takes that title very seriously. With over 1,400 games in their library, and a beer and wine license, visitors are perfectly positioned for a fun night of friendly competition.

Here's how it works. You pay a $7.50 cover fee for access to any of the games in the extensive library. For $10, you can reserve a table for you and your friends at a specific time.

The games range from classics like Risk, Scrabble, and Monopoly to party games like Taboo, Cranium, and Werewolf with stops in the card game, European game, and adventure game categories along the way.

While gaming visitors can sip beer and wine and order off a menu of sandwiches, pizzas, salads and desserts. Those who don't venture into alcohol can enjoy espresso drinks, sodas, iced tea, and lemonade.

The cafe owners Rob and Terry launched the spot because they couldn't find a game cafe that had quite everything they wanted. Some game libraries were limited, other locations didn't serve food and beverages, and oftentimes seating was limited.

At Game Haus all of these problems are addressed to create the perfect atmosphere for a game night out. Serious gamers can spend an evening here just as easily as a casual card game group.
