1. The Skylark

This hole-in-the-wall blues lounge may not strike you as a go-to spot, but this little venue rivals even the most famous listening rooms in town. Tucked away on a dirt road on Airport Blvd, The Skylark Lounge is so hidden you could easily miss it. Take out your GPS and head over to 2039 Airport Blvd. You'll be so glad you did.

2. El Primo

El Primo is worth going out of your way for. This tiny food truck can be found at 2101 S 1st St, and their tacos are unbelievably good. Get there early and try one of their famous breakfast tacos. This local business is cash-only, so remember to bring your wallet!

3. Secret Beach

You won't find Secret Beach on a map of Austin, but you will find Roy G. Guerrero Park. To locate this little oasis, head over to this park complex at 400 Grove Blvd. From there, you'll take the walking trail that's across the street from the Montopolis Youth Sports Complex. Ten minutes later, you'll find yourself in this (relatively) secret hangout. But shhhh! Don't go telling everyone you know about it!

4.Austin Art Garage

Just like its name suggests, Austin Art Garage is a tiny industrial space full of quirky local prints and paintings. The artwork changes periodically, so there's always something new to discover. Drive along South Lamar Blvd until you find the address 2200. Look closely --- if you blink, you could miss it.

5. Sparky Park

This tiny pocket park was once an electrical substation, but now it's a quirky art display. Full of mosaic tiles and whimsical architecture, Sparky Park was created through the Austin Organization Art in Public Spaces. Venture over to 3701 Grooms St. and experience the magic.

6. Garage Cocktail Bar

As you drive along Colorado Street, look closely at the parking garages. The one on the corner of 5th has small, bold letters above the entryway that read "Cocktails." That's the only sign you'll see of this cozy downtown cocktail lounge, and you'll feel like you're part of a secret society when you sip a drink there.

7. Turkey Creek Trail

This 2.9 mile trail will make you feel a million miles away from it all. Head over to Emma Long Metropolitan Park at 1600 City Park Rd and escape into a woodland wonderland.

8. Casa Neverlandia
