The J.B. and Johnelle Hunt Family Ozark Highlands Nature Center is the newest nature experience to open in Arkansas. From natural to digital exhibits, this place is a delight for any family! This free attraction has adventures indoors and out so let's take a moment to explore this expansive addition:

2020 did end on one good note: the ribbon cutting of Arkansas' newest nature center!

The J.B. and Johnelle Hunt Family Ozark Highlands Nature Center is Arkansas Game and Fish Commission's 5th nature center and may just be the best one yet!

The expansive facility has endless learning opportunities as well as recreation.

The 32,000-sq. ft. building sits on 61 acres in northern Springdale. Inside you'll find exhibit halls, a creative center, plenty of classrooms, and even a 3-D archery range.

The modern technology throughout the building is what makes the nature center so impressive.

A winding, virtual stream that ripples when stepped on is just one of the pieces to discover here. Sensors are set up throughout the nature center for audio and visual learning opportunities from hearing the native birds calling overhead to the drips within a replica Ozark cavern.

Every exhibit is programmed for learning, but not all are digital, however!

Read about the native fishes of Arkansas while watching them swim in an expansive 2,000-gallon aquarium or feel like a tiny quail while darting through 8-ft. tall blades of grass. Whether digital or natural, the hands-on learning will leave a lasting impression on Arkansans of any age.

The discoveries don't stop when you walk out the door either.

Meander through the trails and take in the native plant gardens and tallgrass prairies restoration projects. Other buildings on the grounds include an archery and air gun range as well as the 3-D archery range. Eventually, the Razorback Regional Greenway will connect to the nature center's trails, too!

Take your field trip to the next level at Arkansas' largest nature center!
