This unique festival began as a noble cause to create a community park for the residents of Emerson. But it has since ballooned into an award-winning event.
There are games, street vendors, food trucks, arts and crafts, and so much more.
But that’s not all. There’s a beauty pageant…
…and a parade of tractors, motorcyclists, as well as some uniquely decorated vehicles.

You can’t have a pea festival without shelling peas, and the participants are serious about this skill.
In addition, there is also a cookoff competition for the best purple hull peas and cornbread recipe.
But what makes this festival so special, is the World Championship Rotary Tiller Race.
Onlookers line up alongside the 200-foot course…
…while the participants run behind their boosted-up garden tillers.
